2015 International Workshop on Detection and Analysis of Single Blood Cancer Cells
The Main Theme
Blood cancers, including leukemia and lymphomas, have lately become an increasing threat to the public health in China. Along with recent advances in materials, devices and bioinformatics, new approaches analyzing of genetic alterations, malignant phenotypes, and cancerous behaviors at the level of single cells are emerging. The two-day international workshop held by Southeast University will be an interactive, stimulating and gathering of local and international scientists conducting cancer and stem cell-related researches to explore the potential of these advances in the application of blood cancer diagnosis, prevention and treatment.
Topics Addressed
The topic of the workshop will cover broad areas of the research on blood cells. In particular, the presenters and participants are encouraged to discuss latest advances in but not limited to the following specific fields:
- Biology of blood cells
- Hematopoietic stem cells
- Cell differentiation
- Systematic measurement of biological properties of single blood cells with regulatory micro-devices, scanning force microscopy, and etc
- Tracking of intracellular changes of blood cells by nanotechnology
- Analysis of growth signal transduction and bioinformatics changes within single blood cells
- Potential application of single cell detections in diagnosis and therapeutic treatment of leukemia and lymphoma
